From 6th to 12th of June Light scape HoperAperta – La Superficie Assoluta Spazio Banner(see map) Everyday from 10.30am to 7.30pm
Carmelo Zappulla, Italian architect and founder of External Reference, architecture firm based in Barcelona, presents Light scape, an artwork that questions the limits of sound and light and will be on display in the framework of HoperAperta during the Milano Design Week 2022.
Both light and sound are energies that travel in waves. The piece plays this ambiguity by transforming sound into light. In particular, the sounds from the city of Barcelona have been recorded and those soundwaves have been translated into 3-dimensional lines that dance into space. Those lines are selected and reshaped in a blown glass installation filled with argon gas that will glow an ethereal and vibrating light.
Curated by Patrizia Catalano and Maurizio Barberis, HoperAperta builds bridges between architects, designers, artists, and the Italian furniture industry to create works of art and design.
