VAS is a pair of vases that explores the act of containing as an essential gesture: to protect and to hold. Designed by Carmelo Zappulla for External Reference, the project reinterprets Mediterranean archetypes through a contemporary lens, where function and meaning coexist. The dialogue between a warm, porous exterior made from recycled cork and a precise 3D-printed ceramic interior, with its process left visible, transforms waste into value and imperfection into language.
